La Negra Tiene Tumbao

This song is a later song of Celia Cruz's. Here, one is able to tell that her voice has matured from the earlier listening that we heard. Also, there are similar instruments that are typical in cuban salsa and one can here the cowbell, guira, conga, and among other instruments.

  1. I love this song! My family listened to a lot of Celia Cruz when I was growing up and this was one of our favorites. It's funny how I'm just learning she was a Cuban-American salsa singer. I never really payed attention to where latin singers came from till this class. But anyway, I can definitely hear the various instruments associated with Cuban salsa (conga guira, trumpet). I love the upbeat rhythms and her flare she puts on her music, she'll always be one of my favorites!
