Reggaeton Meets Salsa

The song, Ay Amor features a salsa singer, Victor Manuelle with a reggae ton singer Tito El Bambino. I find that this song is important to post on the blog due to the fact that it shows the fusion of two genres. Victor Manuelle offers vocals and singing styles that are apparent in salsa, while Tito El Bambino uses his traditional reggaeton styles. ENJOY!!!!

  1. This is an old but good one! I LOVE the fusion between Salsa and Reggaeton, Reggaeton and Bachata, and Salsa with Bachata. Latin genres can be so easily penetrated by others, it's one of its unique characteristics. And these fusions become SUPER popular. Amongst younger generations, who tend to listen to more bachata and reggaeton, these fusions hit it big. It's great because it becomes a way in which they can expand their musical horizons. Thanks for posting this one!

  2. I agree with what Ana said. Throughout this class, we have seen how easily some of these Latin American genres can be mixed with one-another. This is a perfect example right here. Fusions have taken off amongst the youth, with reggaeton being a very popular genre at one point in America. This goes to show how music will never cease to evolve.
